YOUR STUDENT'S UNION

KELOWNA CAMPUS COUNCIL.

KLO Campus Council

The OCSU Kelowna campus council works hard to ensure students get the most out of their Students' Union during their time at Okanagan College.

Some of the great things we offer members are services such as cheap photocopying, faxing, bus passes, calling cards, ping pong tables, foosball tables, the lost and found, the Trades break-room, and a small convenience store with the cheapest snacks and beverages on campus.

A few of our great events include the annual Kickstart celebration in September with a beer garden, a free Holiday lunch, Sexual Health Awareness events, along with tons of free bbqs, and more.  Make sure you check out the many events throughout the year!

In addition to all the events and services run by your Students' Union, Kelowna council members also advocate on your behalf.  The OCSU helps students with everything from grade appeals to lobbying the provincial and federal government to reduce tuition fees. One of our exciting initiatives' this past year was to host an art auction fund raiser for the Kelowna Women's Resource Centre on International Women's Day!  We were able to showcase local artists of all mediums and raise over $500 for the Women's Centre.

In 2010/11 we worked hard to make sure students attending the Kelowna Campus had the best year possible.  We promise to go even bigger in 2011/12!

If you would like to get involved in your Students' Union, please stop by our office in H125, or talk to one of our six Campus Council members.  Remember, elections for student representatives are held at the end of September and are a great way to become involved in your Students' Union!
