YOUR STUDENT'S UNION
One of the main goals of the Penticton Campus Council of the Okanagan College Students' Union is to ensure that you have a great and memorable college experience.
Your Campus Council is here to provide you with advocacy and representation when you need it, services to make life as a student easier, and events to guarantee that campus life is vibrant and exciting.
Some of the great events the Penticton Campus Council holds include Kickstart; a collection of BBQs, free breakfasts, pub nights, beverage gardens and other activities that extend through the month of September. These events take place on the Duncan Ave campus as well as the Martin St campus. Later on in the year, we hold seasonal events like the Annual Pumpkin Carving contest, a Holiday Lunch in December, and Pizza Lunches, Oktoberfest and more!
In addition to frequent events, there are a number of services that the OCSU provides such a locker rentals and student related faxing. Across the courtyard from the cafeteria is the student lounge. Comfy couches and chairs are there to use as well as a widescreen LCD TV. The lounge has a ping pong table, and a brand new fooseball table for your enjoyment!
You might be wondering who organizes all these services, and who makes sure they run on a day-to-day basis. Well, the answer is YOU. Every fall semester the Penticton campus elects six students to serve and represent their fellow members. Running for council is a great way to volunteer and get involved with Your Students' Union! Stop by our office in September for more information about when elections are or to pick up a nomination form. You can also find out more information about our structure here!
If you ever have questions about the OCSU or the Penticton Campus Council, feel free to stop by our office at the back of the Cafeteria (Room A12). We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
See you around campus!
