YOUR STUDENT'S UNION
Your Campus Council delivers the advocacy, campaigns, services and events of the Okanagan College Students' Union.
We've listened to students on our campuses. Last year we circulated a tuition feedback form. The compiled information gave a united voice to students like you to bring to the Board of Governors. That united voice was integral to last year's partial tuition freeze. We have raised awareness through the campaigns No Means No, White Ribbon, and Make Poverty History. We worked hard to give every member an OCSU handbook, a StudentSaver Discount Card, an International Student Identity Card, and provide students with access to copying and faxing utilities. And, we threw great events like Kickstart, Oktoberfest, and the Semester Ender Bender BBQ.
Yet that's not everything.
Your Campus Council has done even more for you. We have the student lounge set up with couches and a big screen TV. We maintain a food exchange and a water cooler. In the lounge is an Air Hockey table and Foosball table. Last year we bought a new Foosball table for our trades members so you can better enjoy your free time. We maintain a housing board. Together with the OC health nurse we host an annual Sexual Health Awareness Day. And every Friday we would encourage people to come together to play games for recreation and socialization in the Lounge.
And looking forward, 2011-12 will have so much more.
