BC’s Post Secondary funding structure is failing, which means its failing students. Institutional funding across BC is down to around 50% and international students’ tuition has risen 64% since 2006 in order to pick up the slack. International Students are paying 3-5X more in fees than domestic students and have no protection or accountability from our institutions. We got together with other student associations in BC this summer and told the government to fix it.
Every year, without fail, it seems around this time we see a handful of news stories or opinion columns where someone is offended that a company is opting for themes and terms like “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”.
